Meet Millie – our new mailbox spider!
Millie was a little startled when I checked our mailbox this afternoon, but she’ll get used to it.
Huntsman Pat from last year took our daily chats in stride – and he used to spend his time on the mailbox lid (inner flap?) itself!

Why, yes. that is a possum perched on the topmost branch of our neighbour’s tree. It’s keeping a close eye on Maggie, who is scent-marking her territory in the back garden before we get to bed at night.
