| Ameel's MBA Journal
About five years into my professional life (in 2004), I decided that, instead of the MS in computer sciences that I always thought I would do, what I really needed to do was an MBA.
Why? Mainly because I realized that I needed three things: (1) a graduate degree, (2) more and/or advanced general management skills (strategy, analysis, finance, accounting, operations, HR, etc.), and (3) something to accelerate my professional growth.
About a year and half later, I started my MBA at Melbourne Business School (MBS) in Australia.
This section of the site used to contain more stuff but now just has the following two articles:
- My reasons for doing an MBA, as explained through my application essays
- A quick overview of how the MBS MBA works
I deleted the rest because I now put all my MBA and career-related thoughts and ideas on my professional blog. Some useful posts from this blog include:
- And I'm Done! and I Graduated!
- Online Resources for New MBS Students
- MBS MBA FAQ: Career Prospects
- MBA Skills at Work: Part 1
- Should You Get an MBA?
- How the MBA has Changed My Life
I also maintain on that blog a list of all the MBS bloggers that I know of.
